Sabah has no less than thirty ethnic tribes. Sabah is also a country rich with cultural dance. When it's the festive season as Harvest Festival and also Sabah Fest festival which is celebrated in May every year, people can see a variety of cultural dances to enliven the festive atmosphere.
Sabah population consists of various tribes. Sabah's largest ethnic group is Kadazan-Dusun, Bajau and Murut. Other tribes are Kedayans, Bisaya, Irranun, Rungus, Kimarang, Kwijau, Lundayeh, Ubian, Binadan, The River, Tatana, Tagaas, Brunei, mysticism and others.
The difference between the various tribes is significant especially in terms of language, religion, customs and way of life, including their traditional dress.
Kadazan Dusun
KadazanDusun is the name of the indigenous people of Sabah origin. It's called "Momogun" or "Mamasik" original meaning. The clan is using a variety of different languages and customs and traditional culture. Inside are 27 tribes. Among them is the Liwan Dusun, Dusun Tindal, Dusun Pahu, Dusun Lotud, Bagahak, Dusun Labuk, Dusun Kimaragang, Tagahas, Tangara, Dusun, Rungus, Orang Sungai, Kuijau, Tambnuo, and so on.
Kadazan ethnic living in the valley and traditionally engaged in paddy cultivation, while ethnic hamlets live in mountainous areas in the interior sabah.Most of KadazanDusun people profess Christianity. Yet for those who live in the river Pitas district, professing the religion of Islam and the counties such as the Kinabatangan and Paitan also some Moslems and kristian.

BAJAU
Other communities in the state of Sabah are the Bajau. It is divided into two groups who settled on the west coast and the east coast, especially in Lahad Datu and Semporna district. It is recognized as an indigenous people and the natives of Sabah. Most of them worked as farmers and fishermen along the coast as well as horse riding. In terms of speech, costumes, food, customs, and cultural life Bajau live on the west coast and the east coast is very different.
