By using Blog, I have to create a web page about one of the state in Malaysia. Then I need to display the information of the states such as the special places,food,races and event occur in the state.


I choose my birthplace Sabah. Sabah is one of 13 states in Malaysia and eastern countries. It is located in the northern part of the island of Borneo It is the second largest state in the country after Sarawak, which borders the southwest. It also shares a border with the province of East Kalimantan of Indonesia in the south. The capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton. Sabah is often referred to as the "Land Below The Wind".

HISTORY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SABAH

At first origin of the name Sabah is considerably less clear, so many theories have arisen. One of them is when Sabah was ruled by the Sultan of Brunei, as it is referred to as Saba banana presence. In addition, the word Sabah also be due to the location of Sabah in relation to Brunei, it leads a Malay word meaning upstream in Brunei. The theory also says that Sabah was referred to as the 1365 text Seludung in Java. Humans believed to have migrated into the region of about 20,000 to 30,000 years ago.

It is the 6th city in Malaysia and the first city in the state. Therefore, the establishment of the Malaysian Federation event is very meaningful to the people of Sabah. It is celebrated on every year.





ADMINISTRATION IN SABAH

Administered by the Sabah State Legislative Assembly and Cabinet Affairs. State Legislative Assembly, headed by the President of the state appointed by the President of the King of Malaysia. EDUCATION CENTRE IN SABAH


Education in a country is very important because education is one of the main factors for the development of a country, regardless of a country's education will not be able to grow properly.

State is one of the well known systematic study center. This is evidenced by the establishment of institutions of higher education both public and private. Among the well-known institutions in Sabah is Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

In my view, Sabah is a very unique state in Malaysia. This is because, in addition to celebrating festivals and Gawai Kaamatan, Sabah also celebrate other religions such as Chinese New Year, Diwali, Eid ul-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha. This picture clearly shows the Sabah racial mix. The list below shows the festivals are celebrated in the state.


HARVEST FESTIVAL

Pesta Kaamatan or Harvest Festival is a celebration of the famous rice in Sabah. Harvest Festival is usually celebrated on 30 and 31. Harvest festival is the highlight of the beauty pageant, dance traditions, and upucara summit conducted by Bobohizan "chief rabbis". While celebrating ethnic Kadazandusun Harvest Festival will wear their traditional dress and have fun all day. During the festival celebrating the fermented beverage "rice wine" served as their special drink.

CHINESE NEW YEAR


Chinese New Year is the most important festival for Chinese people. The festival is celebrated to welcome the new year in the Chinese lunar calendar. On the eve of Chinese New Year, all the family whether near or far will gather at the home of the parents of the ritual meal. Adults will give ang pau to children and adolescents who are single as a sign of their love and prayers. In addition, the fireworks will be burned as a sign of the beginning of the Chinese New Year and to repel gnome. Arrangements are houses decorated with an orange tree as a symbol of sustenance murh. Dragon dance parade and lion dance will also be held, accompanied by the sound of drums. This festival will be celebrated for fifteen days and ended with the celebration of Chap Goh May.

Sabah is rich in various cultures. Each community would have their own dance. Among those who have KadazanDusun dance is "Tarian Sumazau".

Tarian Sumazau is Kadazandusun traditional dance. The dance is usually performed during festivals and ritual rice spirit (Bambaazon).

RELIGION IN THE SABAH

SPECIAL FOODS

Traditional food is the identity of a people. Various types of food available in the Kadazan Dusun. KadazanDusun who live in villages still practice a traditional way of cooking although not the festive season. PINAASAKAN

Sabah In Cultural And Ethnic Diverity (RACES)
